Current Cost Calculator

This tool executes as a WinForms C# application using the eNVy Warehouse Suite SQL Data Warehouse as it's data source. Using a data range 00000000 = beginning of time and 99999999 = MANMAN end of time, calculates the running weighted average using the MANMAN Receipt Quantity on Hand already counted as On Hand Balance when factoring the affect of the average weighted cost on all subsequent receipts for the part. The tool includes a SQL View which identifies those parts with the greatest receipt / PO Quoted price delta.

A high cost delta might be the result of conflicting units of measure. E.g. The current/standard cost might be maintained by accounting. The Purchasing Unit of Measure might be different from the stocking Unit of Measure and the conversion factor is set to the MANMAN default (1).

DeltaCost Variance:

100 the Weighted Average cost is ideal (matches Standard and expected Current Cost)
>100 the Weighted Average cost of the part undervalued
<100 the Weighted Average cost of the part overvalued

An Implementation of the Current Cost Calculator:

Run CCC, Update the weighted Average Cost into Current Costs (purchase cost field).
Run CCC exceptions, hand them over to purchasing for manual correction, put these values into Current Costs (purchase cost field)
Basically, steps 1 & 2 will serve as the clean slate start for ManMan’s auto calculation to work
Use the MANMAN Costing Utilities to roll-up and transfer to Standard.
From then on, costs should be automatically computed based on PO purchase
Periodically run CCC to catch data entry errors (during PO creation, UOM, conversion factor) preferably before the PO is received.
